Server problems with Apache

Postby bookie56 » 11. May 2015 08:03

Hi guys I know this is well documented...
Did a fresh install of Xampp xampp-win32-5.6.8-0-VC11-installer on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit...
I know I probably need to change a port but have tried and still get the following even though apache started OK...
Can some one have a look and possibly give me the proper procedure for editing the .conf files....

This is what I am getting....

Code: Select all
]    Problem detected!
08:18:31  [Apache]    Port 443 in use by ""C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-hostd.exe" -u "C:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd\config.xml"" with PID 3020!
08:18:31  [Apache]    Apache WILL NOT start without the configured ports free!
08:18:31  [Apache]    You need to uninstall/disable/reconfigure the blocking application
08:18:31  [Apache]    or reconfigure Apache and the Control Panel to listen on a different port

I have never had to change the actual address linked to admin...localhost

Thanks!

Hi again!
I have fixed this by change the default settings in VMware Workstation...
I Went to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Shared VMs" disabled sharing for 443 and changed to 8443 and re -enabled sharing again for the new port...
Started Xampp and no surprises there now..... :D
