I think this has to do with your port 3306 already being used. probably you have a mysql service already on your computer that is using the port. you have a few options. change the mysql port for XAMPP this will require changing the mysql port in a few ini files. Or you could turn off the mysql service running on your computer. I am sure that there are more options but basically its a conflict with some program using the 3306 port.
