Hello,

I had installed XAMPP 1.8.3-5 on Windows OS system.

Xampp contains PHP 5.5.15 which was reported as the vulnerabilty by the security team.

Need to upgrade it to 5.4.32 or 5.5.16.

Please confirm how to upgrade only perl version with out disturbing the xampp.

If this is not possible, can th perl be uninstall and how will it affect on apache.

Hi,

Upgrading only a single component of XAMPP is not supported by this bundle.
XAMPP is designed as local test and development environment. Such environments are most efficient if they are not secured like fort knox.
Most vulnerability are only a problem if XAMPP is used in other environments than it is designed for.

btw: in your thread you are mixing PHP and PERL. They are different.

Does that mean like, I cannot upgarde only PHP version installed through XAMPP(?)

If yes, can I delete the folder PHP on server. Will that affect apache(?)

Then Apache will not start any more because of wrong configuration.

- We have used the XAMPP in the UAT/ Test environment
- Please confirm if the version we are using is the latest one?
- is it possible to create a package with the latest version of PHP 5.4.32 or 5.5.16 and share that with us?

The latest XAMPP version s can be found here: https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html

Apachefriends and Bitnami don't create custom on demand builds. And AFAIK it is not planed to release new XAMPP versions containing PHP 5.4.X (latest XAMPP version was XAMPP 1.8.2-5 containing PHP 5.4.27), only PHP 5.5.X and PHP 5.6.X are developed at this moment.
There is a XAMPP version available containing PHP 5.5.15 (XAMPP 1.8.3-5) and another containing PHP 5.5.19 (XAMPP 5.5.19)
