Apache won't start

Postby goodie5920 » 09. January 2015 06:14

upon clicking the red x next to apache, the following error message pops up:

c:\xampp\apache\bin\httpd.exe is not a valid win32 application.

Note: I don't know the first thing about administration of anything.

My system is XP Professional.

Clicking on the 'X' is attempting to start as a Windows service. I recommend getting the components to work manually first before attempting to start them as services.

XAMPP 1.8.3 is not supported for Windows XP
use XAMPP 1.8.2 instead
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

It's like porn for programmers 8)
