Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

upon clicking the red x next to apache, the following error message pops up:
c:\xampp\apache\bin\httpd.exe is not a valid win32 application.
Note: I don't know the first thing about administration of anything.
My system is XP Professional.

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=70069#p240055Clicking on the 'X' is attempting to start as a Windows service. I recommend getting the components to work manually first before attempting to start them as services.

XAMPP 1.8.3 is not supported for Windows XP
use XAMPP 1.8.2 instead
