How to automatically backup MySQL data and other config?

Is there a way to automatically backup MySQL data and other config files such as .ini files and config from Mercury?
I use a real-time backup tool where I have set up MySQL's 'data' folder to backup automatically. With the files inside the 'data' folder, can I import all the database tables?
