Postby Markedward41 » 12. October 2014 05:59

Hi all,

Such a newbie here it hurts, so please be kind.

I have downloaded Apache and tried to start it, but get this message in control panel:

3:00:12 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
3:00:12 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
3:00:12 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
3:00:12 PM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
3:00:12 PM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
3:00:12 PM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
3:00:12 PM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

Can anyone help?

Followed the directions as given by Fynboxxx but can't locate "world wide web publishing".
Clicked the Service box.
Had choice of two pages. Named Extended and Standard. Could not locate "world wide web publishing".
Perhaps because I'm running Windows 7 in 64 Bit and my version XAMPP is a 32 version?
Can anybody please assist?
Thanks.

Please start your apache_start.bat script and report its response
