Visual C++ 2008 Installed, but XAMPP says it is not.

Today I just installed XAMPP 1.8.3-4 on my Windows 8 computer. When I run the Control Panel (v3.2.1), it says:

Code: Select all
8:54:27 AM  [main]    Required XAMPP prerequisite not found!
8:54:27 AM  [main]    You do not appear to have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtimes installed
8:54:27 AM  [main]    This is required for XAMPP to fully function
8:54:27 AM  [main]    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5582

However, my computer says that the following are installed:

Code: Select all
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x64 9.0.30729.4148
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x64 9.0.30729.6161
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.21022
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.17
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.4148
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.6161

I followed the Microsoft link, downloaded the installer, and ran it. I ran "Repair" just in case that was the problem.

Any idea why XAMPP doesn't think that it is installed?
