Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

okay so i wanted to set up a test environment for a Drupal site. i downloaded the files and database. had to use big dump to get the database on MySQL and when i browsed to the site i got all the information for the site but its all disorganized and i have no idea what to do to correct this.

Without any configuration/installation information, we can't really do anything but guess. Most likely you aren't going to be able to just "copy/paste" a site onto your test environment and get a fully functional Drupal site without some manipulation. One of the big reasons will be the configuration (i.e. localhost vs. some other virtualhost or domain name).

Sure you should. A local development environment has advantages against a remote server for development.
But you should inform yourself about requirements and dependencies and instructions on how to create such a local environment.
This is very application dependend and we cannot provide any support for third party applications like Drupal.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!It's like porn for programmers
