Bitnami XAMPP-joomla installation MySQL errors

I am a newbie to localhost server/database trying to find a way through localhost joomla server to create a website. I installed Xampp & configured succesfully, after that when i am trying to install joomla, it's giving me the errors (see attached image).

I can browse Apache Admin tab (Xampp page http://localhost:8080/xampp/) but when i try MySQL Admin tab(http://localhost:8080/phpmyadmin/), it doesn't load..clearly it means i have problem with MySQL connection.

Note:
1. 3306 port is allowed in firewall.
2. I didn't set a password for MySQL (it's my first setup for it)
3. I don't have any previous MySQL installed. (MSSQL is installed though.)

Finally I got success. installed/Configured Xampp & Joomla finally.

For beginners like me (some points you don't wanna miss) :

1. Check Xampp status (once installed Apache & MySQL)
2. if MySQL showing deactivated (check firewall or deactivate temporarily if not sure)

4. above steps helps ensuring that MySQL & phpmyadmin running flawlessly
5. if bitnami-joomla still gives error like mine - GO TO joomla.org & download standalone full package (around 9.18mb) from there & follow these steps http://docs.joomla.org/Use_Joomla!_on_your_own_computer
6. There may be a point where is still gives error on database configue page of joomla site- use ur main password there.
7. & VOILA!! it's done. and you saved too much hassle which I faced on this!
