I have downloaded and installed XAMPP. Then I downloaded and attempted to install Word Press, from both Word Press and through bitnami. Word Press refuses to install. It is asking for passwords I do not have. I do not know how to set up an admin account on XAMPP (PhP, MySQL). I am attempting to do all this as Local Host so that I can practice web site development and use the books I am trying to learn from. I need this Local Host so I can study. So, since installation didn't make it work, how do I make it work?

This is on a laptop computer solely being used for learning to create my website. So, again, how do I get it to work. It does not work. Typing http://localhost in the address window gets me: "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost. Did you mean: localho.st"

So again, how do I make it work?

Ok, I have found the Admin button and seem to be getting somewhere. Though, it would be nice if the installation took one through these necessary steps. Especially for those of us who expect things to work when they are installed.
