Help Apache and Mysql

Postby emm_lou » 08. February 2014 18:34

Hello,

I have installed XAMPP, however there was a problem with using the port 80. Therefore, I change it to port:88. This get Apache starting, but it still doesn't work as it does not allow me to access the local host.

Also mysql keeps saying that it is starting but nothing happens. I have changed mysql from port:3306 to 3307 to fix this.

Each time I make changes I restart my computer.

I still can't get this to work.

Please HELP.

Thank you :)

I have been able to overcome some of the problems and finally installed XAMPP 3.2.1 successfully.
There were port contention problems as my computer had too many other programs like, IIS, MariaDB, Skype,; SQL Server Reporting services etc.
I had to change the APACHE config file and matched it with the XAMPP Control Panel's Config. The full details are in these blog posts here:

However, I think XAMPP Control Panel 3.2.1 has a BUG.

Although APACHE is running the Control Panel says APACHE cannot start.
