Xampp unattended installation

Postby nexidon » 31. January 2014 15:03

I am installing Xampp 1.8.2-3-VC9 in Windows 7, the method to be follow is unattended installation.
I create a file bat with the following command: Xampp-win32-1.8.2-3-VC9-installer.exe /S /D=C:\Xampp
I execute the file bat and I show the follow mistake.

"There has been an error. Expected option but got "/S". Options start with a leading "--" prefix Use --help to get a list od valid option."

from what I see, the mistake is clear, system does not recognize the commands.

is there any command to execute this method?

Did you try the hint in the error message, using "--" instead of "/"? That would be the very first thing i would do before any other action.

Actually this means, try this command instead:

Xampp-win32-1.8.2-3-VC9-installer.exe --S --D=C:\Xampp

or (if this still does not work) i would try this one:

Xampp-win32-1.8.2-3-VC9-installer.exe -S -D=C:\Xampp

If (and only if) all these versions do not work, i would ask in a forum. Give them a try!

Hello everyone

I try this command: /, -, -- but nothing works. I execute CMD and I use this command Xampp-Win32-1.8.2-3-VC9-installer.exe --help.

The program show the installation help, it is not complicated but is very different from a standard installation

The command for unattended installation of Xampp is:

Xampp-Win32-1.8.2-3-VC9-installer.exe --mode unattended

I try this command and the program works perfectly.

Thanks for everything. :D
