XAMPP stopped working properly

Postby Neff » 26. November 2013 20:17

I've had XAMPP set up and working fine and using it with NetBeans for PHP development for ages but haven't needed it for a couple of months and on returning to it it seems to have stopped working properly. Attempting the access my projects at http://localhost/htdocs/index.php just gives a can't find the server or page not found message (depending on the browser).

I get the same problem with http://localhost/xampp ... not found

However http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ does work so it is serving something.

What could have changed to stop it working?

I'm using a pretty old version on Windows 7 64 bit - the readme gives the following version information.

duh - found the problem. I'd downloaded the site files from the live server and I'd included the .htaccess file in the files I downloaded. This had a couple of re-write rules in it that the host needs but that are incompatible with the XMAPP cinfiguration. Knew it had to be something I'd done.

Thanks for looking anyway
