Xampp starts and then stops?

ok first I 1 problem with the SQL deactivating itself and the databases being deleted. then I uninstalled it and reinstalled and now it wont load AT ALL.

I click the xampp start up file, and it comes on, says that "MY SQL IS STARTING NOW" and then loads the default page. when it does - the program turns off - and I cant go further than that first page.

any ideas whats wrong?

presses apache_stop, mySQL_stop and perhaps also times xampp_stop!
Then presses apache_start and mysql_start and it goes again, I hope!
