having issues with hosting a forum with PHPBB

Postby crtrrss » 12. October 2013 20:25

Hi! I recently installed XAMPP and phpbb from Bitnami in hopes of making a forum site. I have everything installed, but for some reason, when people try to access the site, it says this: Access forbidden!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New XAMPP security concept:

Access to the requested directory is only available from the local network.

This setting can be configured in the file "httpd-xampp.conf".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403

I have no idea what I did wrong.

Thanks,

Carter

Sounds like the original index.php still resides in your htdocs folder. Either that or you put your files inside the XAMPP folder..

That comes from index.html. It all depends on where you put it. If you have it like c:\xampp\htdocs\phpbb\ then it would be http://localhost/phpbb/
