Apache Friends Support Forum

I have installed xampp on my desktop and my laptop and I cannot get it to access any of my files locally.

I always get:

Object not found!

"The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

Error 404

I know that htdocs is the root directory for xampp and xampp is installed on the root of the C drive for both machines.

I have version 3.2.1

Do you really think we can say anything to this problem without to know

• which URL you typed in your browser
• to which path the file is saved
• which contents the log files have

If yes than my answer can only be as specific as your error report: You are doing something wrong.
