Quick guide to view a site through xampp.

A friend of mine is developing a site for me, and he wants to show me the progress. Its just a site that interacts with a mysql database, he sent me the website files in a folder, and the database files in a separate folder. I have no knowledge on using xampp, or any coding/technical knowledge, could someone tell/link me to a guide on setting it up just to see the website. All I want to do is see the site and be done with it! Thanks in advance.
