MySQL won't start up

After installing XAMPP, I run the .bat files to install apache and mysql as a service. I'm running Win2000. It works fine, but then after I restart the computer, MySQL doesn't start up. When I go to services and tell it to start, I get the error:


"Could not start the MySQL service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."


Any ideas on what's wrong?

I get the same error, but it works fine if you start mysql just with the mysql_start.bat file
