Uninstalling WinXAMPP

Hello! I have had XAMPP for a while, but have not used it for about a year and would like to install the latest version (in part due to a database issue I encountered, but also because there is no xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf file. Is there another place I might find this file? Or can get a copy of it?) I have XAMPP 1.7.3.

The reason I'm writing, though, is to inquire as to where I can find the Uninstaller. I am surprised the www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows home page spends a paragraph stressing that anyone who used the auto-installer should use the "Uninstaller" but offers no link.

(I did find an Uninstaller folder on my XAMPP download, but could not get it to work correctly. I think because the Apache was still running. I am going to tinker with it some more. But there must be an Uninstaller utility somewhere for download, in case someone's XAMPP is corrupt or whatever. If that exists on Apache friends it is not easy to find. I suggest you link it off that homepage.

Thank you.

Hello,

You could just download 1.7.3 again and copy the httpd.conf file out of it.

As for uninstalling, you should stop all modules and uninstall all services before trying to uninstall it. After that is done, if the uninstaller is not there and there is no entry in your Add/Remove programs, you can just delete the xampp folder.
