Why does XAMPP control panel freeze when I start Apache

Postby dmitryponv » 18. May 2013 23:23

Good afternoon,

I tried every possible solution, I made sure that not a single one of my services/apps is using Port 80, I tried changing listening port for Apache and SSL. I stopped all VMware services. I removed the previous version of the apache service, I installed and uninstalled apache service. Nothing helped. The control panel still hangs (Not Responding on "Trying to start Apache service") when I try to start the service. I am tired of reinstalling XAMPP every time. My question is, is it so difficult to add an exemption and a timeout to the control panel that will inform the user that the port is blocked or what exactly the issue is, instead of letting the program hang in a loop. My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Please let me know if there are any alternative solutions to this..Thank you

Hello,

Does using the latest control panel (3.2.0) available from the link in my signature work better?
