Problems with xampp and browsers

I am new to this xampp thing, I installed it, started it and tried to connect to http://127.0.0.1 but...

Internet Explorer uses almost all CPU power and seems either lock up or it takes horrible long to get anything happen. IF I use https://127.0.0.1 instead it seems to work, what might be causing problem like this?

Also, if I use Opera 7.23 and try https://127.0.0.1 it says "certification is valit but permission denied". plain http://127.0.0.1 works partially but images do not show up, and CSS seem not to work at all. How to fix this that it would work?

Any ideas/suggestions are apreciated :) Just remember I know next to nothing about this ting right now, but I guess I need learn... :)

hi,

the problem with Opera and the SLL cert is old but nobody seems to know why....

now your other problem with pics what OS are you using i asume XP with some software calld XP anti Spy?!

Yes, winXP professional. But no any "XP anti spy" running. All I have running here is Firewall (ZoneAlarm pro), Outlook Express and Miranda ICQ. Besides xampp that is.

It seems bit odd that images do not work with opera, and css do not work either. And to use IE and get it work it requires that httpS. Oh well, there must be some solutions for these little problems :)

Thanks :) Heh, I think I'm bit too tired when I wasn't thinking Firewall be the problem at all :)

Opening port 80 helped Opera to get CSS, and images. Funny that in IE it didn't require that at all.

Now only problem seems be that I can't get connection to server in IE with http://127.0.0.1 but still have to use HTTPS instead. Any ideas how to solve that problem?
