Mysql database deactivated

Hi everyone, I have installed xampp 1.8.1 on a windows 7 home premium.

the control panel syas that the apache and mysql are both running (green), but if i go to http://127.0.0.1/xampp/ on the status page i get that "Mysql database deactivated"

If i click on myphpadmin I get to the right page but when I install Joomla i get an error saying that jooml cant openthe database for connection error.

How could I activate the Mysql database??

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution?
