Hi
i downloaded xampp and i install, i try to configure apache to listen on port 81 but on starting the xampp in the control panel all other worked but only apache not work.
The error is as follow:

apache shutdown unexpectedly [apache] this may be due to a blocked port mising dependencies [apache] improper privilege, a crash, or a shutdown by another method [apache] check the "/xampp/apache/log/error.log" file [apache] and the windows event viewer for more clues.

i try to chech the "error.log" file but the file is emty nothing is shown in the file. Pls i need help on this.

Do you have installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)?
What happens if you call the file \xampp\apache_start.bat in your windows command line?
