Help Required: MySQL donot start

I have installed Xampp 1.8.1 & started mysql from control panel
it worked fine
but when i changed the root password from xampp security page, it said restart mysql for changes to effect,
but mysql never start again.
operating system: Windows 8 Acer tab
Any help would be much appreciated

problem solved. this is a mysql related bug
