mySQL issue please help

First let me state that the datebase I am working with is 300mb and contains almost 1 million rows.

now when i try to display the results of a query using php the page will not load. Godaddy use to host this database for me but they suspended my account because it was to large. Any ideas?

I am running xampp on a dedicated that has a 2.6ghz processor and 2gb of ram. I would think this would be enough to handle this database. but i dont understand why it keeps crashing. I played with several values in the my.ini and nothing seems to help.
