If F: is a removable drive you may run into problems running services under Windows.

IF you want to run Apache and MySQL as executables or with the auto-start feature of Control Panel - then you might consider moving/relocating XAMPP to the removable media.

Good Luck

Hi Jon,
I installed Apache and MySql under C:, but for some reason it's still finds the path to my F:
How do I get Apache and MySql recognize the expected path (on C:)?

Note:
Xmapp 1.8.1 was originally downloaded to the removable drive, then copied to my desktop.
I extracted it to 'root' of my C drive.
Clicked on setup_xampp (windows Batch file)
CLicked on Apache_start (Wndows batch fie)
Clicked on mySql_start (windows Batch File)
After giving admin rights to the Xmapp_control (Application), I opened it.

Is that the right procedure?
Thank you

Look and see if you still have the old instances of the Apache/httpd and/or MySQL services listed in Windows Service Manager
