Crazy question. I'm new to all of this so please bear with me.

I wish to install this package on my laptop that I use for work. I'm a structural engineer just learning web site and programming development. I'm currently learning PHP w/ mySQL and want it on my laptop to test out prior to uploading to my 3rd party host. Its a pain always uploading to test it out.

1. Can this package be installed on a laptop running XP Home without a problem? Speed is not the issue since it is for learning and testing.

2. I use my laptop for work so will this installation mess up my use of the laptop for normal day to day stuff (i.e., spreadsheets, Word, Outlook, a wireless network, other windows programs, including structural analysis software). I have antivirus and a firewall programs running. Will everything work properly after this installation?

I don't plan on using the installation to ever go live on the net. I just need to use it to 'learn' PHP etc. Any help on this prior to me installing this would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
Tomas

Thanks for the feedback. I just didn't want to install it and find out it was obvious not to do it on a computer needed for other reasons.

Again, Much Thanks for the feedback.
