Updating phpmyadmin

phpmyadmin has a new release, version: 3.5.7. XAMPP has not incorporated it into it's current release.

1) Should I upgrade to it?
2) If so, how do I do it? The simple way would be to copy the files over those file in XAMPP's phpmyinfo directory but I don't know if that would wipe me out.

Or, do I just wait until XAMPP incorporates the lastest release in it's package and reinstall?

Thanks for the help.

You can certainly update phpmyadmin individually, however we don't offer support for that.

What you can update (or replace) independently and relatively easily: the XAMPP Control Panel (hackattack - the developer - actually suggests you do this), FileZilla, Mercury, phpMyAdmin, and Perl. Of course (other than the Control Panel), its YOYO - You are On Your Own.

Apache, PHP, MySQL - best left alone.

Good Luck
