Hi,
Please help me.
I am trying to create a website using dreamweaver. I downloaded Xampp and it turned on FileZilla and Apache, but for some reason MySQL will not start. I am getting this error when I go into Xampp:

MySQL said:

#2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).
Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.

Forgot to add my version is 1.8.1 and I downloaded the C++ the read me file asked to download.

Are there any errors in the MySQL log files? (From the XAMPP Control Panel, you can click the Logs button in the MySQL row).
Are there any errors in the XAMPP Control Panel log window when you start it up?

Thank you so much for responding hackattack. I really appreciate it. I was just coming back on here to state that I uninstalled everything and then re-installed it and now the SQL is on.
