MySQL won't start

Postby TrevDog » 10. February 2013 23:52

Hello, I'm trying to install Tickets CAD. I've done through the steps thus far, but now I'm stuck. I try to start MySQL in the XAMPP control panel (v3.1.0), and it says "Attempting to start MySQL service..." but nothing happens. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

MySQL won't start

I'm sorry, I'm still new and woefully inexperienced with this kind of thing... I'm not sure how to access the statusmessage window (unless it's the window at the bottom of the control panel). After waiting for about an hour it says "XAMPP MySQL Service is already running on port 3306".

I set up the ALEIR program using MySQL using that port, but neither the ALEIR program nor MySQLAdmin are running (unless it's hiding somewhere).

It is. I don't know exactly what the official designated name of that message box is :D

Well, there is obviously another windows service for mysql registered.
get rid of this windows service and your XAMPP mysql should work just fine.

you can do this in your commandline (with enhanced administration rights):
Code: Select all
sc delete mysql
