Would installing Xampp help me?

Hi,

After accidentaly deleting the MySql database password for the localhost I'm unable to login to the PHPmyAdmin on Wamp.

I've installed Wamp because I'm learning some themecreation in wordpress and just started doing so. (therefore the noobyisch language perhaps)

After hours and hours of troubleshooting, Googling, reïstalling, deleting, reading and trying I'm now at a point that I don't want to use this Wamp anymore. So in search of another solution I've read about Xampp.

The thing is, will a fresh copy of Xampp help me get my MySQL database working (a new one) and get me going on the study again? I've got this feeling that somehow there is a tiny little file stuck somewhere on my PC wich is bugging the MySQL database creation. Is this possible?

I know I can't ask for third party software troubleshooting help but what I want to know is if Xampp will bring me a sollution? Maybe you can help me out. Because I'm just beginning with this sort of matter it could be that I'm overlooking something very obvious or doing something completely wrong in the first place.

Thanks in advance for your answer and maybe your help.

maybe. nobody can say that with reasonable certainty, because we don't know your system. But you can download XAMPP, start it and if something will not run, we can analyse the log messages to identify and get rid of the problem.

best wishes,
