Hi alex809,

A short salutation is an act of politeness. Even if the internet is an virtual area, there is always a human being behind the screen. A polite beginning helps to get polite answers too. Please keep that in mind if you start a new thread.

You are not running the control panel with administrator rights. Please start the control panel with rightclick context menu -> run as administrator, especially if you want to work with windows services.

Please install XAMPP not to your desktop. The recommend installation path is C:\xampp\

Your xampp windows services are screwed up- Please unregister them (while the xampp control panel is running with administrator rights) by clicking on the green ticks in the control panel. Windows services can produce errors you don't have without them.

Summary: start reading the status messages the control panel provides you. They are detailed and self explaining i think.

best wishes,
Altrea

I usually do do a short salutation. not sure why i didnt this time but i didnt.

Anyways i have never actually used the XAMPP installer for my pc. I have always used the Portable version since it was a lot faster to get going.

I had also been able to run XAMPP as a non admin and it had worked fine for the longest time. But if my services are screwed up that would explain my problems.
Ill get on fixing these issues and see if it all works out.

EDIT: ok as you will notice. there are no green ticks and i am running it as admin.

Screw it. I switched to WAMP. Its got newer stuff (32 bit has the PHP 5.2) and a crap load of the way newer scripts so w/e.

WAMP is way better then XAMPP. Sorry to say it but its true.

You just needed a newer control panel (available from my signature).

Also, PHP 5.2 is not newer.
