permission/access denied?

I have installed xampp (1.8.1 I think) on my windows 8 computer and then installed all my web .php files and what not to httdocs, but what I want to do is when someone types in the address bar like example.sytes.net/images , I want the images folder to display a access denied, you don't have permission to view that fold/directory but still be able to add and edit content in that folder on my computer.

if any of you out there know how to do this it would be appreciated
