Xammp and port 80 issue

Postby coolcatkelso » 04. January 2013 21:17

Hiya guys

I had xampp working perfectly, could access through local network and online, had uploaded website to htdocs etc and created dbase, security etc, then today I had to restart the pc and apache will no longer start.

I get this error

Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
20:05:52 [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
20:05:52 [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
20:05:52 [Apache] Check the "/xampp/apache/logs/error.log" file
20:05:52 [Apache] and the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
20:05:59 [mysql] Attempting to stop MySQL (PID: 3264)
20:05:59 [mysql] Status change detected: stopped

I tried going to can you see me and port 80 isn't working

I thought I would try and run IIS (don't usually have any of this running, used it before I found xampp) and it starts ok and if I check can you see me again, port 80 is working

Ran netstat etc nothing else is using port 80

Where does it say port 80 is blocked? Remember, Apache uses both 80 AND 443 by default.
