Mysql on Xampp

Hi.
Had to do a reformat and reinstall of everything and I can now see a problem with mysql.
On the xampp status page it shows that Mysql is "Deactivated"
Yet Mysql is installed and running as a service.
I have a database and I can update the database, and phpmyadmin then shows me the updated database.
I have not noticed this before, but is this a bug in Xampp where it shows in the status page that "mysql database is not activated" . (Not using local server), when clearly it is activated.
Using Windows XP and xampp-win32-1,4

should work, but as long as you can still use mysql, it aint a big deal and its not worth a reinstall.
