Xampp installion problem

I installed xampp but when I hit start for apache get the error

Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
10:04:58 AM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
10:04:58 AM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
10:04:58 AM [Apache] Check the "/xampp/apache/logs/error.log" file
10:04:58 AM [Apache] and the Windows Event Viewer for more clues

also when i go into the listening ports in task manager, apache says "not allowed, not restricted"

help?

Could you post the entire control panel log and not just the error. Also, make sure you run the control panel with Admin privileges.
