HI
I have tried to update my Xampp when the new upgrade came through, but had to delete my old version before I installed the new. Now the new 1.8.1 doesn't work. I have Windows 9 64 bit.

I went in to RegEdit and followed the instructions as stated in the forum for the blocked port 80 error which I was getting.

Now I am getting SYSTEM ERROR CODE 5 access denied.
"exception EAccess Violation AT ADDRESS 005abefe in MODULE-CONTROL.EXE

Read of address 00000042.

I have delte4d everything an reinstalled but still no luck. I tried to install WAMP but that would not open.

I hope someone can help me.
PLEASE EMAIL ME AT MY PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS

Also, I went back and reversed the instructions for the
RegEdit and now it is saying Port 80 blocked. Apparently the instructions were not for Windows 9 64 bit.

Hi ElizaKaye,

AFAIK there is no working Windows 9 version out. Windows 8 was just released a week ago.

To identify your occupied port issue the XAMPP control panel gives you the small "Netstat" tool.
Start this and search for port 80 and port 443 and identify the process which blocks these ports.
The full XAMPP control panel status log in the status messages box will be also helpful.

best wishes,
