many errors starting Apache

Postby neversleeps » 09. October 2012 14:37

Just installed XAMPP on two laptops of the same model. One is a 32-bit OS and one is 64-bit OS for Windows 7.
No issues with the 32-bit OS. Can't say the same for the 64-bit OS.

When I open XAMPP and start Apache, the following errors happens:

And it crashes:

Other notes:
* I have unstalled Skype.
* http://127.0.0.1 gives me "Oops! This link appears to be broken."
* I have read the Read Before Installing Guides

How can we solve this?

Did you previously have Apache installed?

Were you able to start Apache right after you installed, as an executable?

I have posted a note to the Control Panel Developer

Could you open the control panel, click the 'config' button in the upper right, check the 'show debug info' box, save, close and reopen the control panel, and post the log here.

Could you also try the latest control panel and see if it is still an issue: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=48932
