Unable to start mysql!

So I have windows xp. I don't use skype and when I try to start mysql it says that it's busy. Any helps? I need it

Please anyone help me with this busy problem... I really need xampp 1.7.7 now.

A. well, Skype would not block MySQL anyway

B. what is in the MySQL error log?

C. did you make an exception for MySQL in your firewall?

D. have you had MySQL installed on this machine before?

E. Have you used the "netstat" button in Control Panel to see if anything is running on port 3306?
