Hello,
I have a problem, I've installed XAMPP 1.8 and it looks completely different from the video tutorial and I am stuck after I click "start" Apache it just says "starting Apache service"
but does nothing else. In the video tutorial it asks me to add the PHP sample files into the document root folder- I can't find them. It seems so simple yet I can't continue without them.
Anyone know where these are?

What would you want the Control Panel to do other than 'Start Apache' when you tell it to?

Well - you probably have to download them somewhere.

Its probably an awful idea - reason - PHP has evolved so much since XAMPP 1.6.7, the files would proably have many errors that you (as a newbie) would have a hard time solving.
