Unsure what to do next

Postby kapitol » 10. August 2012 03:47

Hey guys

I installed xampp 1.8.0 for windows first on my z drive, which is my work folder and I wasn't able to pull up http://localhost/xampp
I looked at my hosts file in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost

I added the last line which isn't commented.

I uninstalled and then installed Windows 2008 C++ as recommended by the forum admin. I then installed XAMPP to my C drive.
Mysql and Apache are both running.

I've been running Windows 7 Home since it's launch until last month when I switched to Windows 7 Pro.

Up to this point since Windows XP Pro/Windows 7 Home I have never had an install go wrong so I've never had to trouble shoot this before. If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can do in order to get this working I would appreciate it.
