Hi warshark (there is ALWAYS time for a short salutation, especially if you are asking for help on a community board. It's a matter of politeness),

warshark wrote:httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 69 of C:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/xampp/apache/modules/mod_authn_default.so into server: The specified module could not be found) i need help.

Because the module line is not present in the current apache httpd.conf a assume you have copied over the configuration files from an older installation.
Simple answer: This will get you in much more trouble than this simple message. Many modules have changed!

If you are unsure which changes have to be done start with the default httpd.conf from a fresh XAMPP 1.8.0 installation and just do the changes needed to be done for the functionality of your application.
if you are familiar with the Apache configuration parameters merge your old configuration with the new one just copying this values which are still recommend and valid with Apache 2.4.

Please be aware that we don't support any copy over installations because the issues resulting from this can be very difficult to debug.

& i dont have skype installed, why is it not binding with the IP address i assigned to it?

From my previous post; i was made to understand the modules in the folder were not compatible with xamp server, so i had the conf folder for 1.8 copied & paste that resolved the problem.
Now inputting the listen IP address, that's where i get (starting xampp from xampp_start.exe i get <OS 10049>The requested address is not valid in its context. :AH00072: make_sock: could not bind to address 41.223......:80
AH00451: no listening sockets available, shutting down
AH00015: unable to open logs )

how do i go about resoving the problem & getting apache started.

I don't think that this IP-Address is configured in your NIC. Maybe this is the IP address your router gets from your ISP?
If so, you can't configure Apache to use this IP-Address, you have to configure the IP your NIC knows, so your internal ip address (in many cases 192.168. ...)

yeah you do have a point,
check this out in the C:\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf , opening the file with notepad++ on line 182, where it says (If your host doesn't have a registered DNS name, enter its IP address here) any idea what happens if put my external ip here; and besides when i configured it at first it was the external ip i used & it worked, not until the next day my ip assigned to my PC changes (10.10.0...) with that range, i need to get apache started
