Hello,

new to forum here and a bit old with xampp package. I was using Linux but i am trying now to install XAMPP in windows (i have to :( ) and there is a small problem.

Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Status: XAMPP is installed
Problem: I cant start apache from xampp panel. I am using port 80 and from netstat the is nothing that blocks 80 port. I hav tried http://localhost AND http://127.0.0.1 but no answer. There are no log files at xampp/apache/log/ :( and as i said i am OUT OF IDEAS...

any help would be appreciated :) thx for the time guys !

Port 443 also has to be free for XAMPP 1.7.7 - have you used the NetStat button???

Good Luck

There are literally 100's of things it 'could be' --

BUT - if you have no Apache error log, that means it never started. That means problem is likely OS related - 1st suspect is always the two ports.
