Apache won't start

I just reinstalled Xampp version 1.7 and can't start apache. Just after the installation it worked perfectly, but I stopped the service to make some changes to php.ini (changed the value of error_reporting), and when I tried to restart it it wouldn't work.

I click to start and it says "Busy..." and then "Apache service started" but nothing happens. Sometimes when I click start it works for a sec and then it stops again. I cheked netstat and there's nothing else using port 80.

¿What should I do?

Read the \xampp\apache\logs\error.log file for clues.

I have this problem too. I run XAMPP, I can click Start next to MySQL and it works but when I tried to start Apache nothing happened. I tried clicking the box next to Svc, and it said "Click OK to install Apache Service" I thought it was already installed. Unclicking the box did nothing. It says below:

"Apache started [port 80]
Busy..."

I looked at that error log previously mentioned, but it is gibberish to me and I have no idea how to fix this and start Apace.

I have already run multiple installs, deleting the previous installs each time. The first time, both Apache and MySQL started fine, but I could not get anything to happen when I click "Admin" next to MySQL to get the database. Now If I try, it comes up with an empty browser window and an error message.

I am new to databases and not good at troubleshooting. Why can't this stuff just work????

I'd really appreciate if anyone can tell me how to get Apache to start. Thanks.

Could you try using the new control panel (xampp-control-3-beta.exe).

If you get any error messages with it or on any pages you try to access, posting that error message would be helpful.

Hello,

Also seeing the entire Control Panel log window contents would be helpful.
