new update versions? [Solved]

Postby mwsasser » 21. February 2012 02:15

So does anybody know why there aren't any updates after 1.7.3? I would love to upgrade to a newer version.

Well, at the moment we are on 1.7.7, with the next version in Beta for windows and Linux...

We are only 'stalled' on Mac OS X and Solaris (which might be a dead OS in reality)

You kinda missed telling us what OS you are on -- and you posted in the Windows OS forum...

Please fix your profile in your User Control Panel to let us know your OS (and version) plus the XAMPP version (1.7.3)

Good Luck

Thats interesting, I've filled out the version and edition of windows twice now. Hopefully it'll stick this time. Win7, 1.7.3 and I'd like to update to 1.7.7.

Is this one of those things where there is no update version, only new install versions because there is nobody to do it? Or is it more of an issue where there has been a policy change?

No - it is because the constituent components, particularly PHP and MySQL have changed enough that using an upgrade process will break too many things.

That makes sense. I'll do it the hard way then.
