pfx or pem key with apache

Postby rocksalt » 20. February 2012 10:29

Hi all,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this.
I have a wild card cert that i want to use, however my sysadmin has given me this in a .PEM and a .PFX format.
While i can convert to .cer and from .pfx to .pem dosn't seems to help me much when trying to use it with my xammp install.

i have my site running with the internal cert:

# Server Certificate:
# Point SSLCertificateFile at a PEM encoded certificate. If
# the certificate is encrypted, then you will be prompted for a
# pass phrase. Note that a kill -HUP will prompt again. Keep
# in mind that if you have both an RSA and a DSA certificate you
# can configure both in parallel (to also allow the use of DSA
# ciphers, etc.)
#SSLCertificateFile "conf/ssl.crt/server-dsa.crt"
SSLCertificateFile "conf/ssl.crt/server.crt"

# Server Private Key:
# If the key is not combined with the certificate, use this
# directive to point at the key file. Keep in mind that if
# you've both a RSA and a DSA private key you can configure
# both in parallel (to also allow the use of DSA ciphers, etc.)
#SSLCertificateKeyFile "conf/ssl.key/server-dsa.key"
SSLCertificateKeyFile "conf/ssl.key/server.key"

But i want it to run with our main company cert which is driving me crazy as i can't find out how to convert either file to .key and .cert

Has someone come across this before ?
