Indeed.
I have a new laptop since end last year, but I'm not sure if it worked back then, I believed it did.
Now it just doesn't work for some reason.

did you use a tool like the netstat button in teh XAMPP control Panel before starting Apache???

What's in the Apache error log - (that's what its there for) - there may be nothing (BUT - that would also tell us something)

\xampp\apache\logs\error.log

Good Luck

I don't see a netstat button.
And there is no log at all :(

Use the XAMPP-Control-3-beta.exe Control Panel. Its in the root of your XAMPP installation. Its only called a 'beta' because it was still being developed/refined @ release time.

If you like, you can check the 'Top Thread' in this board for the very latest version, however the one in the Download has a 'netstat' button that works correctly.

OK, see this other topic, read and follow the instructions in the links and about using Process Explorer - you probably have a service that is using Port 80.

Thanks! It seems that Google Chrome is the evil badass here!
When I start Google Chrome FIRST, it won't work, but when I start it after it, it does work!
Thanks a lot for your help Jon!

I use Google Chrome too and doesn't have any problem with blocked ports for XAMPP.
Maybe you have activated an extension for Google Chrome which blockes the port, or something like that.

best wishes,
