Apache Wont Start. [SOLVED]

The error message I got after investigating:

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

More detailed info:

Actual Problem:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package was not installed.

Solution:
Download and install:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5582

Thanks for posting this but the topic has been well covered in these forums as a search would have revealed.

One indication that the runtime file may be needed is there are no log files in the apache\log folder as they are created and entries added when ever Apache starts and stops.
