I am new to Apache and this so bear with me please. I installed xampp per the instructions because I plan to use it to set up severa; websites offline and upload them one being zencart. Everything started out fine and was running but I screwed up and tried to put a password on root and now when I go into the myphp it gives me a password error. I have tried uninstalling this rebootig and when I reinstall it I get the same error. Are there file in the registry that do not uninstall? I really want to learn this and just need help to get it right.

The recover part in the link above for Windows is fine but the easiest way to set a new root password is to use the page provided in XAMPP:
http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php

Also accessible from the orange Welcome (Admin) page:
http://localhost/xampp/index.php
left frame menu item Security and then follow the link in the main frame.
